Volunteer with Us! | Fremont Union High Schools Foundation

The Fremont Union High Schools Foundation is a non-profit organization serving Cupertino, Fremont, Homestead, Lynbrook and Monta Vista High Schools. We are the primary fundraising organization for the Fremont Union High School District (FUHSD).

Our Board of Directors and volunteers represent a diverse group of people who are focused on supporting our wonderful high school students. We are seeking committed volunteers who believe in education excellence and want to support our high-achieving schools. If you have any of the skills listed below, we’d like to talk to you!

The following roles do not require a position on our Board of Directors but If you are interested in serving as a Board member, please let us know!

Are you creative and tech savvy?

Webmaster – we are looking for WordPress experts who can help us maintain our web presence with occasional “housekeeping”. Ability to advise on the layout and flow will be appreciated.

Videographers, photographers – Can you capture and tell a story visually? This would be an occasional need at events and school presentations. Must have your own equipment.

Video Editor – If your expertise is in the production area, please sign up! You would work with the videographers to be sure the final cut puts our best foot forward. You would need to have access to video editing software. This would be an occasional, but critical job.

PR / Social Media Manager – Work with our wonderful Board members and get our story out on social media, school-based Yahoo / Google groups, and maybe even an old-fashioned newspaper. Attendance at occasional board meetings would be necessary.

Graphic Artist – We can use your creative skills to help design marketing collateral that captures the audience’s attention. Must have your own software. This would be an occasional job, but a very important one!


Operational Roles 

Office Support — inventory supplies, purchase items needed

Researcher – Assist in the Foundation’s efforts to identify sources for potential grants. You would scour the internet for government, corporate, and private entities that award education grants. Once a funding source has been identified, you would assist in researching requirements and eligibility criteria. This would require 5 – 8 hours initially, then occasional updating.


Do you have an eye for detail?

Electronic Newsletter publisher – Work with our wonderful Board Members and staff to get our story out via newsletter to the parent community. Attendance at some board meetings would be necessary. Relevant experience preferred.

Digital Assets Manager – We need a highly organized person to keep our information in order. You would put your expert skills to work by organizing our files on the Google Drive, including organizing photos and videos to enable quick retrieval as needed for the website, social media, eNewsletter, etc. Digital Assets include our logos, marketing assets, presos, soft copies of fliers, brochures, donation forms, donation envelope. Time commitment – 4 hours per month recommended.



Events Helper – at a school event, a donor reception, a fundraiser. No experience needed.

Project Support – write thank you notes, stuff envelopes, make phone calls. No experience needed.
